OUR BELIEFS MUST CORRESPOND TO OUR LOVES

This is a law of the universe. 

What this means is that, if our loves are corrupt, we are compelled to lie to ourselves or believe what is false.

This also means that, if we are egotistical or evil, then we have to also be in falsehood.

You will notice that selfish people need to always justify their actions with a lie. This is because their beliefs have to match their loves.

Egotistical persons will always say that Truth and Goodness are matters of opinion. They will even say that they believe in God, love and justice. But they will never sacrifice their own self in the pursuit of Truth, Love and Justice. The truth is that they love themselves above everything else. And the God whom they proclaim to love is really their own egotistical self.

The truth is that it is impossible to love our own self. Love of self is a false or infernal love that can quickly turn to hate.

Egotistical persons pretend to love all those who praise and glorify them. In fact, the only reason they love their spouse, children and so-called friends is because they consider them to be part of their own self. And, if any of these persons ceases to praise and glorify them, their false love instantly turns into hate and revenge. 

WHAT IS TRUTH AND GOODNESS?

Truth and Goodness are not matters of opinion; they are emanations of Reality.

Truth and Goodness are the spiritual light and warmth of the spiritual world.

In the natural world, if someone were to tell you that light and heat were a matter of opinion, what would you think of him?

Well, in the spiritual world, Truth is spiritual light and Good is spiritual warmth.

In the spiritual world or the world of our mind and emotions, we need Divine Truth or Wisdom to understand the universe and we need Divine Good or Love to feel joy.

Good is the essence, substance or life of God and Truth is the order or form of God.

Divine Order, Divine Form and Heaven are synonymous. 

Swedenborg says that Heaven is organized in the form of a human being.

This is why human beings have evolved on the Earth. They have evolved according to Divine Order or in the image of God.

Now, why does God need human beings?

He needs human beings to realize his essence which is Divine Love. 

In order to realize Divine Love, he needs beings to love.

This is why we must understand that it is impossible to love your own self.

In fact, we understand this Truth instinctively. Or else why would we go to all the trouble to create a family? We know it will be a source of many problems but it is the only way we can realize real love. We need somebody to love besides our own self. 

WHY SHOULD WE FORGIVE EVERYONE?

While he was being nailed on a cross by certain human beings, Jesus said: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do!"

Why should we forgive murderers and child molesters?

If a blind man runs into you and pushes you, do you not forgive him?

Well these terrible human beings are in spiritual darkness and they do not know what they are doing.

Those human beings that were persecuting Jesus falsely believed that what they were doing was good.  They did not  understand that he was teaching a higher level of Truth. They were still in spiritual darkness; they still believed in the illusion of their outer reality.

FALSE LOVES AND BELIEFS

To believe that you can love yourself and be happy is a lie.

Divine Love is a mysterious  substance that must always be flowing.

Divine Love cannot flow into an egotistical heart because it cannot flow out of it.

Egotistical people want to receive and keep love for themselves.

But Divine Love is like the water of the ocean. We can use as much of it as we want but it does not belong to us.

It must return to the ocean of Love.

Many people are fooled by infernal delights or temporal gratification.

They falsely believe that satisfying their lusts will make them happy.

The truth is that the relentless pursuit of lust and pleasure ultimately leads to suffering.

To believe that having sex with as many persons as possible will make you happy is a lie.

To believe that eating more food will make you happy is a lie.

To believe that gambling your money will make you rich and happy is a lie.

To believe that sitting around and not being useful and creative will make you happy is a lie.

To believe that having more and better things will make you happy is a lie.

Satisfying lusts or natural desires keeps you in bondage and suffering. 

This does not mean that you should not have any pleasure; it means that you should not let your lusts take over control of your life.

TRUE LOVES AND BELIEFS

To believe that being creative, useful and loving to others and the Lord will bring us eternal joy is a TRUE belief.

To love God because He is infinitely GOOD and wants to give us as much of his Love and abundance as we are able to bear is a TRUE love.

To believe that God created us for a good and useful purpose and that he has prepared a place for us in Heaven is a TRUE belief.

To believe that He is continuously leading us to our place in Heaven by means of his Divine Providence is a TRUE belief.

To love every human being because he/she contains a divine spark or potential to manifest the glory of God is a TRUE love.

To believe that God wants us to forgive everyone because they are in darkness is a true belief.
